What Is Kickboxing For Fitness?

Kickboxing For Fitness is geared towards cardiovascular health and strength conditioning using martial arts (in this case, kickboxing) as a fun and energetic way of exercising. Punches, kicks, elbows, knees all come into play and you utilize every part of your body to full effect!

The benefits..? 
Enhance health and fitness, build cardiovascular endurance, develop strength and self confidence, corrects posture, focus and balance, improves cognitive functioning and mental toughness, de-stress and sleep better, feel and look younger!

You can burn between 600-1000 Calories in a 1-hour class!

This class is meant for teenagers and adults (male & female) with no age limit! Even if you're in your 50s or 60s. You work at your own pace while the instructor challenges you in your progress. The only barrier will be your mind.

**Due to Covid restraints, private (one-to-one) classes are offered instead of group. Private classes are conducted either at a specific gym (Hybrid Combative Academy & Gym (Bdr Sri Damansara) or Lil Ninja Dojo (Atria Plaza)) or at a location of the student's choice. However, if there is a core group of 5 interested participants, a group class can be arranged.

How Is The Class Conducted?

Classes begin with warm-ups to get the core body temperature up before getting into a more cardio workout to build endurance. This is where we enter into High Intensity Interval Training (or HIIT), an intense 10-minute workout, to really get our hearts pumping! 

Eventually, we move into the fun part... learning techniques (i.e.; punching and kicking) before we partner-up for combination drills. This is where you put your various punching and kicking techniques into practical use by hitting / kicking focus mitts or body shields. Don't worry about hurting your hands. Boxing gloves will be provided (having your own set would be the best option once you're hooked!)

We end the hour-long class in the final 10 minutes with core-strengthening exercises and warm-down / stretching to ease your sore muscles. You'll be tired and sweating a bucket-load by this time, but who cares.. you'll be in a great mood because of the endorphins would have kicked in! 

Equipment, Fees & Training Time

Just bring water and a towel and attire in t-shirt and trackpants. Boxing gloves will be provided but if you enjoy the class and will join us for the long-term, do get a set of your own gloves and handwraps for hygiene purposes. Other equipment for class use like focus mitts and body shields will be available at the centre.

*Note:- Our equipment is disinfected after every class*

The duration of the class will run for 1 hour. Fees are RM 100.00 per month (payable 1 month in advance) irregardless of whether there are 4 or 5 classes for that month. We will close on public holidays.



PRIVATE (One-to-One) CLASSES are also available upon request for those who would like to workout during lunch-time or at different times of the day to accelerate their learning and fitness or work on specific areas to improve. Private 1-to-1 classes are RM80.00 per hour session for a limited time promotion!

 

(If conducted at Hybrid Gym, monthly gym fees of RM80 or per-session mat fees of RM17 is paid separately to Hybrid)
